In this fourth revision, some steps of sex-selection have been refined or eliminated over the years, but the accurate determination of time of ovulation remains the basic tenet. The authors endorse the cervical mucous method for ovulation detection and consider other procedures as alternatives or additional means in achieving success. They attribute traditionalists' reticence to providing sex-selection guidelines to a concern for ethical questions of "gendercide," but they argue that most parents do consider sex-selection to balance families. It is an alluring concept, judging by the popularity of previous editions. This updated and moderately priced version is highly recommended for public libraries.

Yes! It worked... And it could for you too!

Someone I work with told me about this book. After having two lovely girls, I was about ready to try anything for a boy. I gave the book to my wife for an Xmas present. In February, we conceived a child. Our son Michael Ralph was born two weeks ago, and he means everything to us! We are so blessed, and happy that words alone somehow can't fully explain it. It still feels weird because I guess I was just so used to having girls. Anyway, be sure to read both chapters on the girl and boy, so you know what to do, and what not to do. Most of all, you must be willing to love whatever the Lord blesses you with. I really believed in this book, and would highly recommend it. In fact it is amazing how long the book has been out (first edition 1970). Be sure to follow the method, and have fun.

Didn't work for us.

Read the book probably 5 times, charted temps, used ovulation predictor kits. Now having my 3rd boy. I'm very happy with my baby, but just wanted to add my 2 cents that it didn't work for us.

This book really works

This book does a great job of teaching women about theirmenstrual cycles and how the timing of their cycles will help them notonly get pregnant, but also increase chances of conceiving either a girl or a boy. I used these methods when I conceived both of my children and it worked both times! Now I have my boy AND my girl.
